All wild birds are protected by law. That said there are certain species that are considered pests if they are causing serious damage to health, foodstuffs, crops or property.
Pest bird species may be controlled while acting within the rules of general licences (GL40, GL41 & GL42) issued by DEFRA on 9th November 2020.
In short these licences state that if you have carried out all other lawfull and non lethal methods of controlling pest birds at you property (proof of which may be required if investigated). You may kill or take said pest birds, or authorise someone else to do so.

TPC will judge each case on it’s own merits and will be willing to help you control pest bird species if the criteria set out in the relevant general licence has been met.
Pest birds detailed in the general licences include:
Carrion Crow
Jackdaw
Magpie
Feral Pigeon
Rook
Woodpigeon
Canada Goose
Monk Parakeet
Ring-necked Parakeet
Egyptian Goose
TPC will generally use moderated air rifles and/or 12 guage shot to control these pests.
